The countdown to the biggest football tournament in the world has begun, and we've waited four years! Just to help kickstart the Word Cup soccer festival that is about to take the world by storm, I have compiled a list of 15 interesting facts about this year’s Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup to be hosted by Russia. 1. Russia was given the rights to host the FIFA World Cup for the very first time in its history. This historical moment took place on December 2, 2010. The matches will kick off on June 14, 2018 with the finals taking place on July 15, 2018. 2. This will be Russia’s 11 th  appearance in the World Cup. 3. Russia’s highest ever finish in the FIFA World Cup is the 4 th  position in the 1966 World Cup. 4. This will be the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Europe since 2006 and the first time ever a World Cup is hosted in Eastern Europe. 5.    Brazil is all set to host the World Cup 2014. Football fans are on the toes to watch the festival of football. Here are the some group level matches that the fans are eagerly looking forward. So people don't miss these matches.
1. Brazil vs Croatia (June 12, Sao Paulo)
     Among most awaited matches  Brazil vs Croatia is the opening match. In the Brazil team Neymar, Thiago Silma, Oscar are the prime attractions. In the Croatia team Luka Modric and Mario Mandzukic are the attractions. Brazil has bagged the Championship 5 times and are confident to win the Championship for the 6th time.

2. Uruguay vs England (June 19, Sao Paulo)
         Uruguay vs England is an important fight between the 2 main teams. England has suffered a lot of loss by hosting the World Cup and so, it has not hosted once again after that. Louis Suarez from Uruguay is a big head ache for England team. Uruguay has a ray of hope of winning the FIFA World Cup this time.
3. Spain vs Netherlands (June 13, Salvador)
         This is a match between 2 strong teams. This match is a repeat of 2010 Final. Respective teams had played the final fight in 2010 and Spain had won the championship. Both the teams have strong players and this makes the game more interesting. Netherlands are set to take revenge of the 2010 Final.

4. Italy vs Uruguay (June 24, Nathal)
        Italy and Uruguay teams are examples of defencing the attacking game. The goal keeper of Italy Buffon has stated that, if you have to defeat Italy then you have to struggle a lot. In 2006 World Cup Italy had let only one goal hit by opponent team and had won the Championship for the fourth time. 


5. Germany vs Portugal (June 16, Salvador)
        Germany and Portugal is one of the most expected match. Both the teams have strongest players while Germany plays as a team and Portugal plays for the success of its star players Cristiano Ronaldo. And also This game decides the top team of the G group.
