The house is split across two levels although, from a distance, the bottom level almost disappears into the forest, which was intended to make the forest appear as though it has been barely touched by mankind.

The structure and ambience
of the rooms are characterized by the use of domestic woods. The mounting framework and fitments of the housing unit are exclusively assembled from prefabricated elements at the factory. The overall dimensions are 14.50 x 3.50 meters, meaning the parts are easy to transform, easy to put up, and cozy to live in.

On the inside, soft glowing lights are visible, creating a warm, comforting environment shielding its inhabitants from the harsh weather at nightfall. In the renderings, the Cliff House overlooks a winding river and features two stories of enclosed space. Situated on the side of a fictional cliff, this conceptual house looks both eerie and enticing, while appearing as if it belongs to the likes of Bilbo Baggins.

MIRAGE HOUSE, GREECE: Designed for the rocky terrain that makes up the island’s south-west coastline, the Mirage house is conceived by Kois Associated Architects as “an invisible oasis” where residents can enjoy panoramic views over the Aegean Sea without giving up their privacy.

On top of the residence overlays a rimless infinity pool, merging with the seascape and the Greek sky, thus providing an illusion inspired by the optical phenomenon of “mirage”. The presence of the house is revealed only through the mirror-effect surface of the pool, keeping the rest of the property camouflaged.

Dry stone walls will surround sections of the interior and also frame the building’s entrance. These are designed to reference the traditional walls that can be spotted all over the scenic island landscape. The house will be located on a natural plateau, allowing for a simple single-storey layout. This will include three bedrooms and a separate kitchen, as well as the outdoor living room.
